L’Albereta- Chef Gualtiero Marchese, Lago d’Iseo, Italy

Gualtiero Marchese was Italy’s first 3 Michelin starred Chef. His beautiful restaurant where Chef Karp worked in 1996 overlooks Lago d’Iseo, the eastern most lake of Italy’s famous Lake District. Chef Marchese was well know for his Saffron Risotto with a gold leaf overlay served on the black plate in the collection. He later went bigger and basic, opening in addition a large, more approachable restaurant in Milan’s Rinascente Department Store in front of the Duomo.
